Intervention by Denmark
Denmark aligns itself with the statement made by the EU.
We are deeply concerned about the human rights situation in eastern Ukraine and in illegally annexed Crimea. The reported increase in civilian causalities in recent months in the zone of conflict and the continued restrictions for local residents at entry-exit crossing points are particularly worrying.
Denmark is unwavering in our support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We are deeply concerned by the military build-up by Russia along the Ukrainian border. Furthermore, we denounce the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia, which has led to grave human rights violations and abuses.
We reiterate the need for the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements and call on Russia to assume its responsibility in this regard.
Madame High Commissioner, what can the international community do to support residents in eastern Ukraine affected by the continued restrictions at entry-exit crossing points?
Thank you.
