Mr. President,

Denmark welcomes the delegation of Mongolia and thanks it for its presentation today.

We recognize efforts to combat harmful stereotypes and attitudes. However, we remain concerned with the persistence of discrimination against LGBTI persons.

Denmark recommends the Government to provide legal recognition and protection of same-sex couples by amending the Family Law

We commend the revision of The Law on Combating Domestic Violence. However, we note with concern the high prevalence of violence against women, in particular sexual and gender-based violence.

Denmark recommends the Government to take further steps to combat violence against women, including by ensuring that police officers are trained in how to conduct effective and victim-centred threat assessments.

Denmark wishes Mongolia a successful review.

I thank you.
