Denmark’s pledges for the commemoration of UDHR75

Excellences.
I am proud to announce the pledges of Denmark.

Firstly, we will give a new contribution to the High Commissioner’s Office of 2.6 million euro in support of important work with human rights on the ground.

Secondly, we will finalise a new national action plan against racism as part of our firm commitment to combat racism and hate crimes.

Thirdly, Denmark underlines that human rights will remain the foundation of our development cooperation.

Fourth, Denmark remains committed to safeguard equal rights and opportunities for all, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Finally, it is a key Danish priority to make digital technology work for human rights – not against them. Denmark commits to assist civil society to promote human rights in the digital age, through the Digital Democracy Initiative, which we launched together with the EU earlier this year.
Thank you.
