Denmark welcomes the delegation of Thailand.

We commend the adoption of a NAP on business and human rights.

However, we are concerned about restrictions on the freedom of association.

Denmark recommends the Government to revise the Draft Bill on Not-For-Profit Organisations to ensure its full compliance with Thailand’s international human rights obligations, including article 22 of ICCPR.

We are also concerned about restrictions on the freedoms of expression and assembly.

Denmark recommends the Government to ensure that the most severe criminal sentences are not applied to children, including in the context of article 112 of the Criminal Code, and in line with article 40 of the CRC.

Finally, Denmark recommends the Government to ratify OPCAT.

Denmark wishes Thailand a successful review.

I thank you.
