UPR41: Denmark gives UPR-recommendations to Morocco

Mr. President,
Denmark welcomes the delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco and thanks it for its presentation.
Denmark commends Morocco for the progress since its last UPR, including the adoption of the 2018 law to establish an NPM against Torture, a National Child Redress Mechanism and a Disability Rights Mechanism.
Denmark congratulates Morocco for the improvements of women’s rights and the development of gender equality provisions. However, inequalities remain. Cooperation with human rights mechanism and bodies is of utmost importance, including with treaty bodies and special procedures.
Denmark recommends Morocco to:
1. Fully repeal provisions which deny women legal guardianship of minor children on an equal footing with men
2. Without further delay submit the fifth CAT report, overdue since 2015
Denmark wishes Morocco a successful review.
